Kess Gallery originally opened its doors in 1986 as the Bois Fort Gallery, owned by Ely native Carl Gawboy. In 1988 Judy Fredrickson started her ownership that lasted until 1995 when Peter Kess took over and changed the name to Kess Gallery.
